(Houston, Texas)—Andrews Kurth is pleased to announce that partners Stuart Hollimon, Mike O’Leary and Mark Thurber have been selected as key players in the Houston Business Journal’s Who’s Who in Energy” 2016 list. This energy expert list focuses on individuals providing services in a number of different areas, such as law, finance, engineering, chemicals, oilfield equipment and construction services.

Stuart's practice is devoted exclusively to oil and gas litigation and focuses primarily on the upstream and midstream segments of the industry. He routinely represents producers, processors, and pipelines in a wide range of matters, including royalty litigation, lease termination cases, disputes arising under operating agreements, gas contract litigation, implied covenant litigation, and disputes arising under gas processing agreements. He received his J.D. in 1975 from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, where he was Articles Editor for Southwestern Law Journal and his B.A., cum laude, from St. Olaf College in 1972.

Mike has an extensive corporate securities and mergers and acquisitions practice, with particular emphasis on representation of issuers and underwriters in public and private offerings of equity and debt securities; representation of buyers, sellers and special committees in mergers and acquisitions (domestic and foreign) and of private equity firms' investments in energy and energy infrastructure; redemptions and exchanges of corporate debt; negotiating complex partnership arrangements and joint ventures; structuring spin-offs and "going private" transactions; and corporate governance. He has a significant reputation in master limited partnerships (having been issuer’s counsel on over 35 IPOs, underwriters’ counsel on over 35 IPOs and counsel on numerous follow-on offerings), energy and oilfield services, pipeline company transactions, royalty trusts and forest products companies. He received his J.D. in 1980, with honors, from the University of Houston Law Center and his B.S., cum laude, in Finance from the University of Alabama in 1977.

Mark's practice experience includes work on behalf of developers and investors in connection with major energy and infrastructure projects. With 27 years of experience across all aspects of the energy industry, Mark has an astute understanding of the upstream and midstream oil and gas industry, thermal and renewable power generation, and all aspects of the LNG value chain. Mark has led and participated in a comprehensive range of oil and gas transactions throughout the Americas, Australia, India, Pakistan and the Middle East. He provides counsel on all project documentation, including EPC contracts, production sharing agreements, and various forms of financing. He received his J.D. in 1989 from Columbia Law School, where he was Articles Editor of Columbia Business Law Review. He earned his M.B.A. in 1981 from Brigham Young University and his B.S., with high honors, from Brigham Young University in 1980.
