Connect Media Names Laurie Grasso as a 2021 New York Lawyer in Real Estate Winner

Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is proud to share that New York partner and co-chair of the firm’s global real estate practice, Laurie Grasso, has been named to the 2021 Lawyers in Real Estate Awards for the New York region by Connect Media. This list, only in its second year, honors 50 attorneys from 10 regions around the U.S. who are known for “excelling in their practices as well as their contributions to the community”

Grasso has a client roster that includes private equity funds, institutional REITs, investors and other property owners. She frequently represents them in connection with the structuring and closing of real estate transactions, such as acquisitions and dispositions, developments, financings, portfolio transactions, preferred equity investments, leasing and real estate joint ventures. She is a trusted member of their business, helping to adeptly and efficiently handle any type of transaction. To this extent, she’s worked with these clients to close billions of dollars of deals in the past year which recently included assisting Fairstead with their $350 million purchase of an affordable housing portfolio consisting of 48 buildings – the largest affordable housing deal in New York this year.

As a well-known real estate industry dealmaker, Grasso is often recognized by a multitude of industry publications and organizations, including most recently being added to Commercial Observer’s elite Power 100 list. She has also recently been recognized by Crain’s New York Business in their “Notable Women in Law” listing, as well as their “Notable in Real Estate” listing. Additionally, she is involved in numerous diversity and community efforts, including helping to spearhead the firm’s partnership with Project Destined and she serves on their Advisory Board. She also serves as co-chair for Rebuilding New York’s “She Builds” program.
