Hunton & Williams LLP acted as counsel to Barclays Capital Inc. as remarketing agent for the remarketing of $53,000,000 Development Authority of Floyd County Pollution Control Revenue Bonds (Georgia Power Company Plant Hammond Project), First Series, 2010. The Bonds were originally issued by the Development Authority of Floyd County, Georgia and the proceeds were loaned to Georgia Power Company (Georgia Power) to provide funds refinance a portion of the cost of the acquisition, construction, installation and equipping of Georgia Power’s interest in certain solid waste disposal facilities located at the Hammond steam electric generating plant in Floyd County, Georgia.

Georgia Power is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Southern Company. Georgia Power is engaged in the generation and purchase of electricity and the transmission, distribution and sale of such electricity within the State of Georgia at retail in over 600 communities (including Athens, Atlanta, Augusta, Columbus, Macon, Rome and Savannah), as well as in rural areas, and at wholesale currently to Oglethorpe Power Company, the Municipal Electric Authority of Georgia, Dalton Utilities, various electric membership corporations and non-affiliated utilities.
