Global Data Review Names Lisa Sotto To Women in Data 2022 List
Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP congratulates New York-based partner, Lisa Sotto, on her inclusion in the second edition of Global Data Review’s Women in Data. The list spotlights women at the cutting edge of legislation, regulation and technology around the world.
Honorees were selected through a combination of factors, including traditional metrics such as significant cases and market standing, and also candidates’ wider contributions to the field. GDR’s Women in Data features 46 participants from 23 countries, including 37 lawyers, five regulators and four senior in-house privacy leaders.
A longtime leader in global privacy and cybersecurity law, Sotto has dedicated her career to promoting sound global data privacy and security practices. In addition to heading the firm’s privacy and cybersecurity team, Sotto co-founded in 2001 the Centre for Information Policy Leadership, a think tank within the firm that collaborates with industry leaders, policymakers and regulators to develop global solutions and best practices for data privacy and responsible data use. Sotto is so well respected in matters of cybersecurity and privacy that governments and lawmakers around the world seek her counsel in regulating the space. Clients have praised her as “the queen of breach,” “the high priestess of privacy’” and “by far the country’s gold standard for privacy and cybersecurity matters.”
