Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP advised the underwriters on an SEC-registered offering by American Electric Power Company, Inc. (AEP) of 17,000,000 equity units (initially consisting of 17,000,000 corporate units).

AEP, based in Columbus, Ohio, operates and maintains the nation’s largest electricity transmission system and more than 227,000 miles of distribution lines to efficiently deliver safe, reliable power to nearly 5.4 million regulated customers in 11 states. AEP also is one of the nation’s largest electricity producers with approximately 26,000 megawatts of diverse generating capacity, including approximately 2,856 megawatts of renewable energy.
