Hunton Andrews Kurth Advises Underwriters on $1.5 Billion Aggregate Principal Amount of Debentures Offering by Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc.
Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP advised the underwriters on two SEC-registered offerings by Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc. ("CECONY") of $1.5 billion aggregate principal amount of debentures, consisting of (i) 5.50% Debentures, Series 2023 B due 2034 and (ii) 5.90% Debentures, Series 2023 C due 2053.
CECONY, a subsidiary of Consolidated Edison, Inc., provides electric service to approximately 3.6 million customers in all of New York City (except a part of Queens) and most of Westchester County, an approximately 660 square mile service area with a population of more than nine million. CECONY delivers gas to approximately 1.1 million customers in Manhattan, the Bronx, parts of Queens and most of Westchester County. CECONY operates the largest steam distribution system in the United States by producing and delivering approximately 15,794 million pounds of steam annually to approximately 1,520 customers in parts of Manhattan.
