Hunton Andrews Kurth Advises on Kansas City Power & Light Company’s Remarketing of $146.5 Million Tax-Exempt Bonds
Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP advised Kansas City Power & Light Company (KCP&L) in connection with the remarketing of $146.5 million aggregate principal amount of Series 2007A and 2007B City of Burlington, Kansas Environmental Improvement Revenue Refunding Bonds (Kansas City Power & Light Company Project), which were previously issued for the benefit of KCP&L.
KCP&L is an integrated, regulated electric utility, headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, that engages in the generation, transmission, distribution and sale of electricity. As of December 31, 2017, KCP&L served approximately 542,500 customers located in western Missouri and eastern Kansas. KCP&L’s customers included approximately 479,300 residences, 61,200 commercial firms, and 2,000 industrials, municipalities and other electric utilities as of December 31, 2017. KCP&L is a wholly owned subsidiary of Evergy, Inc.
