Hunton Andrews Kurth Facilitates $3 Billion Economic Expansion for Micron Technology, Inc.
Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is pleased to announce its role in facilitating a deal between Micron Technology, Inc., the Commonwealth of Virginia, and the city of Manassas that will result in one of the largest manufacturing investments in Virginia history.
Micron, one of the world’s leading producers of memory chips, will invest $3 billion and create 1,100 new jobs, further enhancing its already leading position in the automotive memory sector. Hunton Andrews Kurth assisted the company as it negotiated its complex economic development incentive package with the state and provided overall strategic advice throughout the expansion process.
“We are incredibly proud to have assisted Micron with this project, and it’s rewarding for the firm’s new practice group to have been a part of negotiating such a landmark deal early on,” said Todd P. Haymore, managing director of Hunton Andrews Kurth’s Global Economic Development, Commerce and Government Relations practice. “Micron has been an important business partner with Virginia and Manassas for years, and we expect the expansion to build on the company’s solid history of growth and success well into the future.”
In addition to Haymore, the Hunton team working on this project included Myles G. Louria, senior director of governmental affairs.
Hunton Andrews Kurth launched its Global Economic Development, Commerce and Government Relations practice in March under Haymore’s leadership. With its founding, the group expanded the firm’s longstanding lobbying and government relations practice to include global economic development, communications, and grassroots services for new and existing clients.
