Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is pleased to announce the promotion of five lawyers to counsel. The firm proudly recognizes these talented individuals for their accomplishments and client service.

Nathaniel B. Jones (Corporate, Charlotte) focuses his practice on transactional, securities and corporate governance matters involving banks, bank holding companies and other financial institutions. He advises financial institutions and their holding companies in a wide range of corporate and regulatory matters, including corporate governance matters, mergers and acquisitions and general bank regulatory matters. Jones received his undergraduate degree from Florida State University, magna cum laude, and his law degree from Duke University School of Law.

Jason P. Brown (Labor and Employment, Washington) focuses his practice on assisting clients with complex and high-stakes employment and labor litigation as well as providing advice and counseling on various matters, including workplace investigations, drafting employment agreements and policies, employee discipline and responding to union organizing campaigns. Brown received his undergraduate degree from The College of William & Mary, his law degree from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, and his masters of laws from Georgetown University Law Center, with distinction.

Jorge R. Aviles (Litigation, Washington) counsels clients on risk management and complex insurance recovery strategy and disputes on behalf of corporate policyholders. Having helped clients secure millions in insurance coverage under claims involving a wide variety of losses, he represents commercial and governmental policyholders in all types of complex insurance matters throughout all stages of the insurance process, from pre-purchase policy analysis and review through litigation and settlement of contested claims. Aviles received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University and his law degree from Fordham University School of Law.

Roger C. Gibboni (Litigation, Los Angeles and Washington) focuses his practice on government investigations and enforcement actions, internal investigations, complex consumer protection litigation, appeals, and state and federal regulatory issues. He regularly represents a wide range of energy, communications, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, technology and trade association clients on legal and policy matters before state attorneys general and other state and federal regulators and enforcement agencies, including in responding to civil investigative demands and multistate probes. Gibboni received his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama, summa cum laude, and his law degree from George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School.

David Parker (Litigation, Richmond) specializes in appeals, particularly in the Fourth Circuit. He has briefed numerous appeals, including in the Supreme Court, the First, Second, Third, Fourth, Ninth, and Eleventh Circuits, and various state appellate courts. Parker’s cases cover a broad range of subjects, with a particular focus on First Amendment and insurance litigation. Parker received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Virginia.
