Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP successfully raised nearly $38,000 in support of the Legal Aid DC Making Justice Real Campaign. The firm has proudly supported the campaign for more than 30 years, and this year’s efforts topped last year’s record-setting results as the highest amount of money raised in the history of the firm’s participation. Fundraising efforts were coordinated by Nicholas Drews, Julia Casciotti, Jaclyn Lee, Alexander Abramenko and Raychelle Eddings.

The Making Justice Real Campaign helps provide Legal Aid DC with the resources it needs to support DC’s most vulnerable residents. The District has some of the highest rates of economic and racial inequality in the country, including in the courtroom – more than 80% of litigants in the District lack legal representation. Legal Aid DC helps to close this access to justice gap by assisting residents in a wide range of civil legal matters related to housing, domestic violence, family law, access to public benefits, immigration, criminal records, debt collection, and more.

“It is a huge honor to continue this firm tradition of supporting the Making Justice Real Campaign and exciting to have another record-breaking year for this incredible organization,” said Casciotti. “We’re grateful for the dedicated attorneys and staff at Legal Aid DC who are working to provide equal justice in our community.”

Funds from this year’s Campaign will help Legal Aid provide legal services to thousands of DC residents in need. Additional details on the Campaign and Hunton Andrews Kurth’s involvement can be found here.
