Hunton Andrews Kurth Represents IDB Invest in $21.5 Million Secured A/B Loan to Avenida Desarrollo Nuevo S.A., Edubuilding, S.A., and Edulink, S.A.
On April 1, 2019, the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IDB Invest), as lender, closed on a $21.5 million secured A/B Loan to Avenida Desarrollo Nuevo S.A., Edubuilding, S.A., and Edulink, S.A., each a sociedad anónima organized and existing under the laws of the Republic of Costa Rica (collectively, the Obligors), as obligors. The proceeds of the loan will be used by the Obligors to develop and operate a technical university satellite campus in San José, Costa Rica, that will offer specialized technical courses to students in Costa Rica and the region in collaboration with Texas Tech University.
The US-based firm of Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP advised IDB Invest as international counsel. Costa Rican legal advice to IDB Invest was provided by Consortium Legal. Costa Rican legal advice to the Obligors was provided by Zurcher Odio & Raven.
