Hunton Andrews Kurth’s Lisa Sotto Designated Privacy Law Specialist by the International Association of Privacy Professionals
Lisa Sotto, chair of the global privacy and cybersecurity practice, has earned the IAPP’s Privacy Law Specialist designation, indicating that she has met the rigorous experience and knowledge requirements necessary to distinguish herself as a leader in the Privacy Law industry.
“With this designation, Lisa demonstrates her qualification to remain at the forefront of this legal field and join other leaders in a key intersection of policy, law and technology,” said J. Trevor Hughes, IAPP President and CEO.
The Privacy Law Specialist certification is administered by the International Association of Privacy Professionals and accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA), which marks the 15th legal specialty accredited by this institution. The credential is available to attorneys admitted to a U.S. state bar who pass the CIPP/US exam, as well as either the CIPM or the CIPT programs.
Lisa has received widespread recognition for her work in the areas of privacy and cybersecurity. She is recognized by Chambers and Partners as a “Star” performer for privacy and data security—the only privacy lawyer in the United States to receive this distinguished ranking. Chambers USA 2019 quotes clients who say she is "without a doubt the leading practitioner in the field.” Lisa was named among The National Law Journal’s “100 Most Influential Lawyers,” an honor bestowed on practicing attorneys who are making the biggest impact in the legal world.
