Hunton Andrews Kurth Earns Perfect Score on 2021 Corporate Equality Index and Named a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality
Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is pleased to announce that the law firm has received a perfect score on the 2021 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) workplace equality, administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation (HRC). The firm joins the ranks of 767 major U.S. businesses earning top marks this year.
“Diversity and inclusion are an integral part of who we are as a firm,” said Hunton Andrews Kurth Managing Partner Wally Martinez. “We are proud of our perfect CEI score, which reflects our commitment to meeting the ongoing responsibility law firms have to create a culture of respect, inclusion, equal opportunity and empowerment. A diverse and inclusive workforce creates an innovative, productive team of lawyers and professional staff that benefits our clients, our local communities, and our firm.”
The 2021 CEI evaluates LGBTQ-related policies and practices, including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic-partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs and public engagement with the LGBTQ community and rated 1,142 businesses in this year’s report. Hunton Andrews Kurth’s efforts in satisfying all of the CEI criteria results in a 100 percent ranking and designation as a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality.
“From the previously unimaginable impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, to a long overdue reckoning with racial injustice, 2020 was an unprecedented year. Yet, many businesses across the nation stepped up and continued to prioritize and champion LGBTQ equality,” said Alphonso David, Human Rights Campaign President.
