Hunton & Williams LLP Recognizes 197 Lawyers and Legal Professionals

NEW YORK — June 22, 2011 — Hunton & Williams LLP is pleased to announce it has bestowed the firm’s distinguished 2011 E. Randolph Williams Pro Bono Award upon 197 of its lawyers and legal professionals. The award is presented annually in recognition of lawyers and professionals, from across the firm’s global offices, who devote 100 hours or more to pro bono service. This prestigious honor is named after firm co-founder E. Randolph Williams, who is remembered both for his notable legal accomplishments and his many philanthropic works.

Hunton & Williams continues to lead the way in community service in the United States and its tradition of pro bono service is well recognized. During the firm’s last two fiscal years, 100 percent of its U.S. lawyers have participated in pro bono matters. Hunton & Williams received a National Law Journal 2011 Pro Bono Award for its work for Haiti immigration relief with Catholic Charities Immigration Legal Services; the Florida Supreme Court’s 2010 Chief Justice’s Law Firm Commendation Award for the firm’s commitment to provide access to the courts for all Floridians; the 2010 Beacon of Justice Award from the National Legal Aid & Defender Association for immigration work; the Pro Bono Institute’s 2009 Pickering Award; and the American Bar Association’s 2009 Pro Bono Publico Award.
