Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is pleased to announce that for the sixth consecutive year, partner Ann Marie Mortimer has been named to the 2024 Leaders of Influence: Litigators & Trial Lawyers list by the Los Angeles Business Journal.

The list recognizes litigators chosen by the Los Angeles Business Journal as “lawyers who go to the proverbial mat to fight for their clients before judges and jury [and] have their own unique set of skills.” Their relevant recent successes and demonstration of impact made on the profession and the Los Angeles community were factors considered when determining the honorees.

Head of the firm’s commercial litigation practice and founder and managing partner of the Los Angeles office, Mortimer’s cross-disciplinary practice encompasses complex commercial transactions including novel cybersecurity litigation and high-profile toxic tort/environmental claims. She is well-versed in advising name brand clients on data protection and compliance with regulatory mandates on privacy and data security. She was the lead lawyer defending an internet service provider in a class action lawsuit that has been deemed the largest data breach in history and was featured as lead counsel on one of the Daily Journal’s Top Defense Verdicts in California for her representation of one of the largest American multinational big box retailers in a class action lawsuit involving an alleged data privacy breach and its precedent-setting decision was one of the first dismissals of a California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) claim on the merits. She is advising on a class action mass tort litigation arising from the highly publicized Dominguez Channel incident in Carson, California, pending in Los Angeles County Superior Court. Mortimer’s leadership in complex commercial litigation extends to model leadership within her firm and the community as one of only a handful of female managing partners in California and a member of the firm’s executive committee.
