National Law Journal Names Mark Arnold a Sports, Gaming and Entertainment Law Trailblazer

Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP partner Mark Arnold was recently named among the 2022 Sports, Gaming and Entertainment Trailblazers by The National Law Journal, which seeks to honor attorneys covering everything from stadium development and counseling A-list celebrities to sports betting legislation and more.

The publication is honoring Mark in particular for his work on public private partnership (P3) stadium transactions – including Las Vegas’s Allegiant Stadium, New York’s UBS Arena and all four professional stadiums in Houston (Minute Maid Park, NRG Stadium, Toyota Center and PNC Stadium) – and his ability to streamline the negotiation process for these deals by pairing his municipal finance experience with his extensive real estate knowledge.

As co-lead of the firm’s P3 practice group, Mark practices in the area of public law and real estate. His work includes all facets of commercial real estate and construction practice, with an emphasis on the development, construction, leasing, and public and private financing of public projects such as sports, recreation and entertainment facilities, convention centers, hotels and educational facilities. He also has extensive experience in the leasing, acquisition, development, financing and rehabilitation of hotels, multifamily projects, restaurant sites and shopping centers.

Mark also advises clients in structuring and implementing creative economic development techniques such as economic development grants, sales tax financings, tax increment financing and tax abatements.
