Richmond Times-Dispatch Includes Hunton Andrews Kurth Lawyer Among its ‘Strong Voices’ Inspiring Women
Hunton Andrews Kurth lawyer Heidi Abbott was recently honored by the Richmond Times-Dispatch as part of its inaugural “Strong Voices” program. The nine honorees were chosen for their extraordinary contributions that have helped make Richmond a better place to live and extended the path for the next generation of women leaders.
On March 20, during Women’s History Month, the winners shared their inspiring personal and professional stories with nearly 500 people at the Richmond Omni Hotel during a special event. Proceeds from the event benefited the Virginia Women’s Monument—the first monument in the nation to honor women who have made significant contributions to our history. In addition to the celebration event, the winners were spotlighted in a special section of the publication’s March 24 edition.
Abbott is a member of the regulated industries and government relations team at Hunton Andrews Kurth. She represents business and industry at the local, state and federal levels on a variety of legislative matters, including the passage of legislation regarding insurance, housing policy, taxation, privacy, technology, health care, environmental, agriculture and forestry issues. In addition to her legal practice, Abbott donates her time and talents to a wide variety of community organizations. She currently serves on the Board of Commissioners for the Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority, the Board of Managers for NextUp RVA, the Board of Directors for the Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce, and the Board of Directors for Smart Beginnings Greater Richmond. She is the outgoing Chair of the Board for Juvenile Justice.
