Style Weekly Names Counsel Kevin Elliker Among its Top 40 Under 40

Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is pleased to announce that counsel Kevin S. Elliker has been named to Style Weekly’s Top 40 Under 40 for the class of 2024. Celebrating “Richmond’s most remarkable young people” and selected from hundreds of nominations, the list includes 40 individuals younger than 40 who have “impressed in some way with their focus, determination, and hard work for the betterment of Richmond, whether through their job, volunteer work, or often both.”

Elliker’s career path has made him a valued member of the firm’s Issues and Appeals team, where he helps clients in complex trials, appeals and government investigations. After graduating first in his class from William & Mary Law School in 2014, Elliker clerked for two federal judges in the Eastern District of Virginia and the Fourth Circuit. He then worked for three years in the firm’s Richmond office as a litigation associate before joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Richmond, Virginia, where he investigated and prosecuted white collar offenses. After two years as a federal prosecutor, Elliker was asked to join the investigative staff of the House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6^th Attack on the U.S. Capitol, a role for which he was recruited based in part on his work as a member of the Hunton Andrews Kurth team that conducted an independent review of protests and civil unrest for the City of Charlottesville in the summer of 2017. Elliker returned to the firm in the fall of 2023.

During his first decade of practice, Elliker has received favorable results in criminal and civil jury trials, argued before the Fourth Circuit, prepared briefs at the Supreme Court, and represented clients in civil, criminal, and congressional investigations. Elliker maintains an active pro bono practice representing indigent clients in civil rights cases and volunteers as a mentor with The Appellate Project, a nonprofit focused on encouraging and empowering law students of color to excel in the field of appellate law. Additionally, he hosts the firm’s podcast Holding Fourth, which explores topics related to practicing before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
