The Deal
The most dramatic revisions to US financial regulation in 80 years became law on July 21, when President Obama signed the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. Tom Hiner, partner in the asset securitization practice group, spoke to The Deal about how the bill and industry overhaul in general will impact the asset-backed securities market. Hiner noted the good news: the Securities and Exchange Commission has shown a willingness to work with the market to try to facilitate a smooth transition.
Hiner's practice focuses on representation of borrowers and lenders on a wide variety of corporate finance transactions.
