Last week at the 2017 Chambers USA Awards, Hunton & Williams’ environmental team was recognized as the team of the year in the environment practice area.  Chambers USA evaluated our practice as “preeminent” in the environmental area and “highly esteemed.”  Chambers USA also noted our “fine track record” for our utility and energy work and our “noteworthy expertise across air, water, waste and climate change matters.”

I feel privileged to be an associate on Hunton’s environmental team, and attending last week’s event with Bill Wehrum, Chuck Knauss, Shannon Broome, Tom Boer, Malcolm Weiss, Scott Burton, Kevin Finto, Pete Johnson and Todd Mikolop was a special treat for me.  This honor reflects the skill, focus and leadership I see our team exhibit every day.  And as I looked across the beautiful venue, I was struck by sheer amount of talent, experience and commitment possessed by all of the nominated firms.

As part of his introductory remarks, celebrity host Stephen Mangan advised us all to cherish our accomplishments – as part of a very persuasive multi-media presentation, I might add.  More than our success, my favorite part of the evening was relishing our work itself.  As Teddy Roosevelt once said, “Far and away the best prize that life offers is the chance to work hard at work worth doing.”  We extend a very special thank you to all of our clients, who offer us such worthwhile, engaging work.
