Earlier this month, Hunton & Williams announced that Global Privacy and Cybersecurity partner Aaron P. Simpson has switched to London from the firm’s New York office. He will continue his work on behalf of clients as a leader of the firm’s Global Privacy and Cybersecurity practice.

“There is growing European interest in the U.S. Privacy Shield and in cybersecurity issues, areas in which Aaron has particular experience,” said Bridget Treacy, managing partner of the firm’s London office. “I am delighted to have Aaron on board; having him in London adds additional strength and capacity to our team here, enabling us to better serve our local clients.”

Simpson helped develop the firm’s renowned global privacy practice that began nearly 15 years ago. He is widely recognized for his work with clients on a broad range of complex global data protection and cybersecurity matters. These range from internal investigations into large-scale cybersecurity incidents to the development of cross-border data transfer solutions, compliance with existing and emerging data protection requirements in Europe and around the globe, and negotiating data-driven commercial agreements. Among his many awards and recognitions, Simpson has been recognized for his work on behalf of clients by The Legal 500 as a Leading Lawyer in Cyber Law.

“Our client roster is internationally renowned, and the monumental legal and political changes in the UK and Europe have created unprecedented challenges for multinationals seeking to successfully navigate the changing landscape,” said Simpson. “I look forward to helping our clients overcome these challenges.”
